Championship Week Predictions

Well, um, there you have it.  Everyone is bound to have off days and apparently mine was last weekend with every pick that I made being off.  I have learned from my mistakes and now know not to doubt the ability of the remaining teams.  With that being said, here are this week's picks.

Green Bay vs Chicago

Aaron Rodgers is on a roll in the playoffs and the Packers have the highest post-season winning percentage of all time.  Mike Martz and Jay Cutler seem to have put the Bears offense back on the right track as well.  What I think is that this game is going to come down to who can establish the run or more specifically, who can stop the run.

Based on this post-seasons numbers I'm hedging my bets on Green Bay by 10 points in a defensive battle.

New York Jets vs Pittsburgh

Both of these teams are playing lights out right now.  I like the intensity shown by the Jets this week focusing on their practice more than the usual trash talk.  Coach Tomlin has the Steelers ready to go as well and I look for this to be another defensive battle.  These are two of my three favorite defenses to watch (the other being the Ravens) and I hope for the knock down, drag out brawl that I know this game can be.

I like the Jets to return to the promised land this week in a 24-21 victory.

Thanks everyone for reading and I will be back in time to make my Super Bowl Picks.  Enjoy the games

Playoff Predictions

The Divisional Round of the Playoffs are here in the NFL and I for one am pumped for some football.

Ravens @ Steelers

Look for another hard hitting battle between these to division rivals.  I expect another huge, inspired performance from Ed Reed, who in the face of adversity was the dagger in the heart of the Chiefs last week.

Ravens 14 - Steelers 10

Packers @ Falcons

The Running Game is key here but I look for Atlanta to hold the Packers' running game to under 100 yards.

Falcons 24 - Green Bay 17

Jets @ Patriots

I'm actually more unsure of this game than any other game this weekend.  I look for another hard hitting game here and look for the Patriots Wes Welker to be the key to the game.  If he breaks 150 yards ( which I think he will ) the Patriots will win this game.

Patriots 28 - Jets 21

Seahawks @ Bears

Seattle pulled out what is quite possibly the biggest upset in playoff history by beating the Saints last week.  Chicago is playing much better this season than last but their running game is suspect at times.

I think this is a close one but I am looking for another upset.

Seattle 31 - Chicago 21

Enjoy the games this weekend and look for my Conference Championship Predictions next week.
